MUSICIAN John Mayer is the latest vocal critic of Qantas, tweeting his dissatisfaction to 2 million fans around the world.

The American was aboard the new Qantas A380 that left Sydney for Los Angeles on Friday night but was then turned back because of a faulty fuel pump.mayer2-420x0

The jet, carrying 329 passengers, tried to return to Sydney but was forced to land in Melbourne because of bad weather.

Mayer tweeted to his 2,559,283 followers: “Sydney to Los Angeles. I mean, turn around, back to Sydney. I mean, over to Melbourne … Thanks Airbus A380!” and uploaded a photo of the diverted flight path, as shown on the in-flight television.

The passengers were put up in hotels in Melbourne overnight and rebooked on flights yesterday. But Mayer could not be silenced, tweeting: “This hotel smells like the carbon paper in a coroner’s report. (I’m tired, go with it.),” and adding: “No more complaining … I remember how to do this. Guerrilla tour mode ENGAGE.”
